| Requirements and Responsibilities For Insurance Risk Senior Manager |
| Oversees an organization's overall insurance program to manage and minimize risk and costs. Manages strategic objectives and policies to ensure effective insurance coverage for the organization. Conducts regular policy reviews and research. Compiles loss trends and reviews actuarial estimations to make recommendations. Administers systems to collect data and generate meaningful models and reporting to support decisions. Creates processes that identify risk exposure and classify, measure, and manage insurable risks. Develops the appropriate mix of insurance coverage for the organization and negotiates policy pricing and terms with vendors. May review and approve policy renewals and applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. |
